Things to do this summer on Anglesey
So we all know that there are lots of things to do this summer on Anglesey from walking the fabulous coastal path, visiting local attractions such as Anglesey Sea Zoo, to exploring the rich history and ruins the Island has to offer, not to mention beach days!
However, the summer is when Anglesey is alive, not just on the beaches, or with wildlife, but with summer fetes, activities, and festivals.
Here are just a few of the fantastic events that are happening over the course of Summer 2023 on Anglesey.
Holyhead Festival – July 27
This fantastic yearly occurrence kick starts off summer here on Anglesey, this year’s festival will be held down at Newy. Last year’s festival featured numerous live music acts and performances, food and drink stalls, artisan craft stalls, face painting, games for all the family and a fun ‘it’s a knock-out’ themed obstacle race just to name a few!
This year’s festival looks to be better than last years!

Menai Food Festival – July 29
This year’s Menai Food Festival promises to be even better, with more food and drink producers, craft stalls and street food stands. There will also be live music performed on the stage throughout the weekend. On top of that a mini funfair making it the perfect fun-filled family event. So, if you’re wondering about filling up a day with something other than beach day – this is one not to miss.

Beaumaris Charity Summer Fete – August 4
This is a great small local event in Beaumaris – the charity summer fete is all in aid or raising funds for the local brownies, rainbows and beavers’ groups.
The event is held at the Happy Valley Pavilion from 11am to 5pm with a huge range of family fun activities planned a few of which are:
- Bouncy Castle
- Punch and Judy
- Face Painting
- Coconut Shye
- Hook a Duck
- Tincan Alley
A range of craft and shop stalls, hog roast and more!

Dog Fest – August 6
This local Dog Fest is held at Plas Llanfair in efforts to raise funds for hearing dogs for deaf people. There is a full day’s programme for your furry friends, fun judging categories and lots of stallholders. On top of this there are some fantastic businesses such as an animal-based therapeutic intervention centre, and physiotherapist and fitness conditioning for dogs.

The Anglesey Country Show – August 15th and 16
The Anglesey Agricultural Show is an annual two-day event, which is a great day out for the whole family.
What to expect at the show?
Visitors can discover great local produce, arts and crafts not to mention fantastic displays of livestock and ringside seats for a host of equestrian events. There is even an all new “Entertainment Zone” for 2023.
